Patrick J. Rolow

PJ Served in the US Navy for 22 years as a Saturation Diving Officer and Special Operations Officer. Served aboard the USS ORTOLAN, USS MOCTOBI, and USS RECOVERY as well as being the Executive Officer at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, Panama City, FL.

PJ enlisted in the Navy in 1973 and attended Boot Camp and Disbursing Clerk “A” School before being assigned to the Navy Regional Finance Center in San Diego, CA. After three years he was selected for the Navy Enlisted Scientific Education Program and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington. Following college he attend Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and was commissioned as an Ensign. Upon commissioning he was selected to the newly formed Special Operations Officer Program and attended HeO2 Diving Officer School as one of the last students in Washington, DC. Following Dive School and Surface Warfare School he was assigned to the USS ORTOLAN (ASR 22) and was further trained as a Saturation Diving Officer. After his tour aboard the USS ORTOLAN he was assigned as Executive Officer aboard the USS MOCTOBI (ATF 105) and a follow-on tour as Executive Officer aboard the USS RECOVERY (ARS 43). PJ’s next assignment was as an Operational Test Director at Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR) for diving systems and then as Executive Officer at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, FL before returning to COMOPTEVFOR for a second tour; retiring in 1995.
